*Find out more about the test criteria for modelling kits
here.
In our above test we have already mentioned that we wanted to improve the BUSCH model, as the wooden cart looked rather pale and sterile. There are different methods of ‘weathering’, and although we have been successful in doing so with some other models, we always try to develop new techniques.
Water
colours, the type of paint all of us will know from our days at school, have the
great advantage that they can be easily washed off any plastic object. Therefore
of
course, water colours are not sweat resistant, but our models are no toys anyway
and are meant to please visual senses only.
Just like our well-tried REVELL paints, the weathering set by BUSCH (art. no.
1700) is very suitable to make models look more realistic, and we have already
made some good experiences with its coloured powders (also not sweat resistant)
on our
ice-cream parlour diorama.
